The WRP Vision

Digging Line on Leverich - 2010 National Trails DayThe future of mountain biking in the Gallatin Valley is up to us.  It should include a variety of trails for all abilities and riding types.  From beginner to expert, downhill shuttles, all day marathon epics or a quick after work thriller; the Gallatin National Forest can accommodate us all.  We have the opportunity and the ability to build our community from the ground up.  By building trails and working together to make sure it is done respectfully, mountain bike access in the Gallatin National Forest can flourish.

Our goal is to find opportunities to create a new mounting bike experience in the GNF that works in concert with the ecological needs of the landscape.  Whether you’re an XC’er, DH’er or beginner we need your help maintain our trials and create these new opportunities sustainably.  We believe that by working with the Forest Service, conservation groups and other forest users we can better create this quiet trail system than on our own.  It is going to take a lot of time, hard work and cooperation but in the end our trails will be better for everyone.

By working together we can hand craft a trail system that meets the needs of the modern era.  Our trails are not static, we have a say in the future of recreation on our National Forest lands.
