About WRP

Who We Are

Mission Statement
To preserve and improve bicycle trails while protecting wilderness lands around the Gallatin National Forest.

About Us
The Wilderness and Recreation Partnership (WRP) was formed in 2010 by a group of Mountain Bikers and Wilderness Advocates to address the growing concerns around the Hyalite-Porcupine-Buffalo Horn (Gallatin Crest) Wilderness Study Area.

Our group believes there is room in the Gallatin Range for Wilderness protection and top-notch mountain biking. We also believe we are on the threshold of a great opportunity to position the communities around the Gallatin National Forest as world-class mountain bike destinations. We realize that it is going to take a lot of hard work by many groups, recreation and conservation alike to achieve this goal. We formed the partnership to bring as many people together as we possibly can to talk about the Gallatin Range, wilderness preservation and recreation access.

Our members consist of mountain bikers, hikers, backpackers, climbers, hunters, anglers, conservationists and horseback riders. Together we are working to create a vision for the Gallatin Range that preserves the best recreational and Wilderness experiences Montana has to offer.
